The idea in plain words

Most approaches to health begin with a problem and work backwards — find what is wrong, then try to reduce it. Paneugenesis starts from the other end. It asks what a better outcome would look like, then works to create the conditions that make that outcome likely.

The word describes the intentional creation of all good — building conditions where benefit spreads beyond the person acting. A better choice you make for yourself can be good for the people around you and for the world you share. When action is designed that way on purpose, improvement multiplies instead of staying private.

Everything is interconnected: the individual, other people, the wider community, and health itself. That is not a slogan — it is the design constraint the framework works within, and the reason the practice asks a simple question of each day: what would make things a little better than before, for more than just me?

Where it comes from

Paneugenesis is a published, peer-reviewed framework — Becker, Frontiers in Public Health, 2026 — grounded in salutogenesis, behavioral science, and quality improvement. Aspiration, grounded in evidence.

From principle to practice

A principle only matters if it survives contact with an ordinary Tuesday. The practice — how BeWell'r turns this idea into a daily rhythm — has its own page.
